I had been suffering with insomnia for 13 years and felt like a train crash most days as I tried to get ready for work in the mornings. My doctor had prescribed anti-depressants over the years, but no improvement had ever been forthcoming. I had tried acupuncture, shiatsu, hypnotherapy (with a practitioner years ago) and all manner of herbs and alternative therapies. I went to see my doctor again and explained that I was struggling to cope on a daily basis with the lack of sleep. He suggested that I try Pilates. I did some research and went to a class at Ruddington (St Peter’s Rooms) with Debs Osborn, after having a good chat with her on the phone first. I loved the class and felt more relaxed after only the 2nd session. I still go to that class and arrange my work around it, as it is important to me and my ongoing progress. The class is friendly, relaxed and non-competitive. During October 2010, I was offered the opportunity of some hypnotherapy with Debs to see if she could help with my insomnia. What can I say – my life has changed completely.

After only 7 sessions, I was noticing significant improvements in my sleep. I was also very much aware of the fact that I felt less stressed about my sleep problems and bearing in mind 13 years of insomnia were being addressed, my personal view is that we had made a massive breakthrough. From that stage forwards, my sleep came on in leaps and bounds. The turn around has been amazing. I now get regular peaceful and sound sleep, so the improvement is also sustained. I feel I have energy and a real zest for life!!! I have not felt this way in years and I mean YEARS!!!! This weekend was totally brilliant, thank you so much.  I know how much thought and preparation goes into organising something that makes it look effortless and I really appreciate all that you gave to us.

I really, really loved the very last meditation, it really touched me.  I could see the sparkling star and the light and was totally immersed in the moment, it was just incredible.

I asked Debra for some

I asked Debra for some hypnotherapy when I was going through  a stressful period at work.  In January this year I heard that my  organisation was going to be restructured and we would have to apply for our  jobs.  I felt very anxious and decided I needed some help.  I had  attended Debra's Pilates classes for some years and knew that she was someone  that I could trust.  I have found the hypnotherapy sessions to be extremely  helpful.  I immediately felt that Debra had a very good understanding of my  situation.  Through hypnotherapy she helped me appreciate that my anxieties  over my job were part of a wider problem that I was well able to address. The result has been that I was appointed to a more responsible job within my  organisation and I feel much more positive about being able to cope with changes in the future whether they are at work or elsewhere.

I was very sceptical about

I was very sceptical about hypnotherapy at first; however Debs made me feel totally comfortable and at ease. She listened to everything I said and took time to explore how hypnotherapy could help me with the way I was feeling, very anxious and sometimes depressed. Each session made me feel so much better; I can now calm myself down, and feel I have some good techniques to help me to stay calm.
